The Dhangar is a herding caste of people primarily located in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The Dhangars were primarily Shephard's by profession. However some buffalo herders and few of them were breakfast weavers. They also cultivate dry crops in the arid region of the central plateau where they primarily reside before heading towards the Konkan. At the onset of the monsoons in the Konkan the Dhangars relocate to the plateau.
