Who were Gomastha. Why were there clashes between weavers and Gomastha???

○○The reasons for the clashes between Gomasthas and weavers were:



☆The gomasthas were outsiders and had no social link with the villagers.
☆They were arrogant and marched in villages with sepoys and peons.
☆They punish weavers for delay in supply.
☆The weavers could not sell their cloth to other buyers because they had to sell the company due to the loans they took from them.
☆They had to accept the prices offered by the company to them which were low.

1. Gomastha = They was the workers and also they get money from the East India company.

2. They are generally appointed to check the quality of cloth also collect the supplies.

3. As per the gomasthas was outsiders hence they had no attachment with the villagers.

4. Gomasthas was very self important.

5. Gomasthas also penalize Weaver's for detain the supply of goods.

6. The weavers are not allowed to sell their product to any other company as per they were taken loan from the East india company.
