Hello dear,

Here is your answer,

●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

=> Some of Helen's book-friends comprised La Fontaine's fables which appealed to the highest moral sense, he struck the chords of reason and self-love. The fables were about how man's morality sprang wholly from self-love and that if this self-love was directed and restrained by reason then happiness would follow. 'The Jungle Book' and 'Animals I Have Known' were also special to her because she felt a genuine interest in animals, these books talked about real animals and not caricatures of men. The Bible was another tome for which she had the greatest admiration, love and respect. She read it with an ever-broadening sense of joy and inspiration, loving it as she loved no other book. Lamb's 'Tales from Shakespeare' was another classic she had grown up with and Macbeth being the story which had impressed her most. For a long time the ghosts and witches pursued her into Dreamland. The characters were real to her like acquaintances one makes.

=> For Helen, books were her source of pleasure, wisdom and knowledge, they were integral to her education. Books not only gave her pleasure but also wisdom as well as knowledge as she perused them. Literature was Helen's Utopia where she was not disenfranchised and there were no barriers that shut her out from the sweet, gracious discourse of her book friends. They talked to her without embarrassment or awkwardness. Her interests were vast and varied when it came to books and authors, learning something different from each and every work as well appreciating the value of her knowledge. New vistas opened up in front of her, new channels of learning and education that came with works she perused.
