The jacobins were the ones who came up to power after the state assembly lost power to France (The state assembly was the middle class of France who had revolted against their KKing, Louis 16). The Jacobins were originally a club consisting of low class members of the French society. Tge name Jacobin comes from a convent St. Jacobins.
