The Non-Aligned Movement was founded and held its first conference (the Belgrade Conference) in 1961 under the leadership of Josip Broz Titoof Yugoslavia, Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, Jawaharlal Nehru of India,Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, andSukarno of Indonesia.
