The Khostis was a community of the weavers in India.
Hand-loom production in western Orissa has a caste nexus, involving of many caste groups. The literary evidence has suggested that in the Western Orissa the Ganda community along with the Pankas and doms constituted 80% of the total production. Following this, the Bhulia caste ranked second in the hand-loom production. The Khostis ranked last as the Mahar and Kuli were treated as equal to this Khosti community in the Western Orrisa.
