Dr. Sachchidananda Sinha was the first chairman (temporary) of Constituent Assembly. Later Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as thepresident and Its vice-president was Harendra Coomar Mookerjee, a Christian from Bengal and former vice-chancellor of Calcutta University.

Dr. Sachchidananda Sinha was among the members of the Constituent Assembly of Rajasthan. However later Dr. Rajendra Prasad was chosen as the president and Harendra Coomar Mookerjee, his vice president, he was formerly the vice-chancellor of the University of Calcutta. Regardless of the members' position in the assembly, Dr. Sachchidananda Sinha played significant roles in the constitutional assembly after the posting of Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
