The members of the Jacobin club belonged mainly to less prosperous section of society. They included small shopkeepers, shoemakers, pastry cooks,as well as servants and daily wage workers. Equality was sought to be practiced through forms of speech and address. They massacred the king's guards and demanded to lower the food prices in the summer of 1792.
