The muvendars are the South Indian kings, Chera, Chola and Pandiya.
The Cheras were the ruling dynasty of the present-day state of Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu in South India. Their capital was Muziri also known as Vanchi. The Early Cheras are said to have spanned the period between the 4th century BCE to 5th century CE. and the later Cheras were in power between the 8th and 12th century.
Cholas belonged to a minor chiefly family known as Muttaraiyar that held power in the Kaveri delta. They worked as subordinate to the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. Vijayalaya, a member of the ancient chiefly family of the Cholas from Uraiyur, captured the delta from the Muttaraiyar in the middle of the ninth century
Pandiyas occupied the region of the modern districts of Tirunelveli, Ramnad and Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Madurai was their capital, situated on the bank of river Vagai. The word Pandya is derived from the Tamil word, 'Pandi' which means the 'bull', and considered a symbol of masculinity, strength and valour by the early Tamils.
