"Vaishnavism followed by the vaishnavites who are believers of the Lord Vishnu, principles are clearly elaborated in texts like Bhagavad Gita, Vishnu Puranam, Bhagavatam Purana.

Furthermore, Vaishnavism was nurtured in the south by the Alwar's. They created and recited the devotional poems collectively known as Nalayira Divya Prapandham. In Karnataka, Vaishnavism was enriched with the philosophical preaching's of saints like Ramanuja, Madhava, Raghavendra and through poems and Carnatic music by poets like Kanaka Dasa and Purandara Dasa.

In the north, Vaishnavism spread through the poetic and literary contributions from saints and poets like Tukaram, Mirabai, Tulsidas, Chaitanya, Kabir, Vallabha, etc.

Some of their contributions include Kabir's poems, Mirabai's Krishna bhajans, Tulsidas's Ramcharitramanas, etc."
