Answer:Rajputs are the rulers belonged to the Kshatriya varna. They ruled different parts of india in early medieval india. The Rajput rulers were hostile to each other and always at war with neighbouring states for expansion of territory. They extended patronage to Brahman class to legitimize their rule. Brahmanas eulogize the Rajput rulers with various gods in purana and in return recieve lavish gifts and land grants from the ruler.

The period is so-called because of the presence of many rajput led states in the susubcontinet
