Most of the historians believed that the Rajputs are descents of Kshatriyas of the Vedic period. The Rajputs came in to the power after the death of the great emperor Harsha Vardhana during the 7th century. After the death of Harsha Vardhana his kingdom disintegrated and a number of independent kingdoms established.
