During the 7th and 8th century emerged a new clan of people who came to be know as Rajputs. They basically belonged to the warriors class of people and were located in Rajasthan and some central part of INDIA.

Most of the historians believed that the Rajputs are desents of Kshatriyas of the Vedic period. The Rajputs came in to the power after the death of the great emperor Harsha Vardhana during the 7th century. After the death of Harsh Vardhana his kingdom disintegrated and a number of independent kingdoms established.
