sepoys were the class of soldiers working for EAST INDIA COMPANY during the british rule their condition was very miserable as the were not given higher posts in the army , qualification exam was made tougher for Indian soldiers to qualify , they were even asked to cross the rivers to fight against enemies and the were forced to use the gun whose cartridges were made from cow and pig fat
