3. How did Sandrembi's mother die ?
One day Sandrembi's and Chaisra's mothers went fishing. While Sandrembi's mother managed to catch many fishes, Chaisra's mother did not catch any fish. Instead, she caught several snakes and out it in her tungon. As dusk approached, they were tired, and so they took rest under a fig tree full of ripe fruits. Chaisra's mother tempted Sandrembi's mother with some ripe figs and when Sandrembi's mother opened her mouth to have the the fig Chaisra's mother took her tungon and poured all the snakes into the mouth of Sandrembi’s mother. Immediately, Sandrembi’s mother died.

The first time when Sandrembi's mother came in Sandrembi's dreams, she told Sandrembi that she had been murdered by Chaisra's mother and had turned into a turtle. She told Sandrembi to come and catch her in the morning, and put her in a pitcher inside the kitchen and keep it there for 5 days. After which she would turn into her human form
The second time, (after the Sandrembi's mother's attempt to transform from a turtle to a human was ruined by Chaisra and her mother) when Sandrembi's mother came in Sandrembi's dreams, she told Sandrembi that to collect the bones, and wrap them and keep them in a basket for 7 days. Then, she would try to change to her human form.
5. How was the turtle killed?
When Chaisra and her mother came to know about Sandrembi's mother becoming a turtle and that through Sandrembi she planned to change into her human form, she hatched a plan. Chaisra started crying for water and her mother told her to drink water from the pitcher in the kitchen, and the turtle was discovered. Chaisra's mother ordered Sandrembi to cook the turtle and helpless Sandrembi had to listen to her. This way the turtle died, which Chaisra and her mother ate it greedily, and then threw the bones near the house
6. How did Sandrembi's mother turn into a swallow
When Chaisra and her mother threw the bones of the turtle near the house, Sandrembi's mother again came in her dreams and told her that to collect the bones, and wrap them and keep them in a basket for 7 days. Then, she would try to change to her human form. Sandrembi did as he was told. However eagerness and curiosity, and on the 6th day, Sandrembi opened the basket. Since the number of days fell short, Sandrembi's mother became a swallow and flew away.
7. Why did Chaisra's mother make Sandrembi wear new clothes ?
As years passed, Chaisra and Sandrembi became full-grown girls. One day, they both went out to fetch water. While, Sandrembi’s clothes were old and torn, Chaisra wore beautiful new clothes. A king who was passing by saw them and he instantly fell in love with Sandrembi. He asked Sandrembi for some water, however fearing her step mother she told the king to drink water from her sister. But the king did not drink the water
When Chaisra narrated the incident to her mother, her mother decided to make her wear old clothes and make Sandrembi wear new clothes so that the King would be impressed by Chaisra and probably make her his queen
