they were the fighters who fight in russian civil wars.
for the most part the white were not contrary to the popular belief monarchies. its hard to say anything all encompassing about the white movement other than its oppositions to the Bolsheviks but the white leaders were the products of the february revolution- liberans in the european sense , often nationalist , proponents of democracy and even mild forms of socialism . and if some of them yearned for a strong central authority, well they would rather be that authority themselves then reinstall a tesar.
in any case the colour paleete did not end there .if we dig just a little deeper we find the greens.a fancy collective name for a lot of individual peasant revolts . fighting a civil war as it turns out doesnot come cheap-recruits and food have to run out of somewhere.u unfortunately people doesnot come willingly and food tends to belong to someone. the green armies were not so much armies as group of peasants defending there villages, their families and their harvest from both baat communism and provision raids by the white guard.
