Metals have 1,2,3 as there valence electrons where non metals have 5,6,7 as their valence electrons.

Also metals have the properties of being sonorous, malleable and ductile whereas non metals don't,but there are always exceptions too.

Themal conductivity, electrical conductivity and being lustrous are also propeties of metals which are not generally of non metals, but here too, exceptions are present.

For example, Iodine a non metal is lustrous, Graphite can conduct elctricity.

So here are some of the differences between metals and non metals.
