It can be proved from the fact that trade centre and capitals during this time remained to India and China. Many goods like pottery, jewels, textiles, opium, silk, diamonds, spices, etc. flowed from India to rest parts of the world. And in return cheap machine made goods, metals, etc. flowed from western countries to India. Many values like religious, trade, etc. are reflected through these trades. If we look back at our past, we see that having better trade relationships was really beneficial for a country's development. This helped to increase a country's economy.
