Answer:

a) 6 kg

b) 192 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of sugar they bought together= 2\frac{1}{2} + 3\frac{1}{2} = 6 kg

1 kg =32

1/2 kg = 16

for 2 (1/2) kg sugar that bought by Suyash it costs,

((32 X 2) + 16)= 64+16= 80

for 3 (1/2) kg sugar that bought by Ashish it costs,

((32 X 3) + 16)= 96+16= 112

together it costs,

112+80= 192

Given :  Suyash bought 2\frac{1}{2} kg of sugar  and Ashish bought 3\frac{1}{2} kg of sugar

Sugar cost 32 Rs per kg

To Find : How much they buy altogether

How much they sped on sugar

Solution:

Sugar cost 32 Rs per kg

Suyash bought 2\frac{1}{2} kg

Suyash spent   =32\times2\frac{1}{2}

=32\times \frac{5}{2}

= 16 × 5

= 80 Rs

Suyash spent   = 80 Rs

Ashish bought 3\frac{1}{2} kg

Ashish spent   =32\times3\frac{1}{2}

=32\times \frac{7}{2}

= 16 × 7

= 112 Rs

Ashish spent   = 112 Rs

Together spent = 80 + 112 = 192 Rs

Together  Bought sugar = 2\frac{1}{2}+3\frac{1}{2}   kg

= \frac{5}{2}+ \frac{7}{2}   kg

= \frac{12}{2}   kg

= 6 kg

Together they  Bought sugar = 6 kg
