Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x³-5x²-2x+24

Let the roots be a,b,c

Given is (a×b) = 12

We know -:

product of roots = -d/a

(a×b×c) = -24

(12×c) = -24

c = -2

Hence -2 is one of the roots for the equation x³-5x²-2x+24

Therefor -:

x³-5x²-2x+24 ÷ (x+2) = x²-7x+12

x²-7x+12 = (x-4)(x-3)

The other two roots are 4,3

x³-3x²-6x+8

We know-:

Sum of roots = -b/a

a+b+a+a-b = -(-3)/1

3a = 3

a=1

Hence 1 is one of the roots for the equation x³-3x²-6x+8

Therefor-:

(x³-3x²-6x+8) ÷ (x-1) = x²-2x-8

x²-2x-8 = (x-4)(x+2)

Other two roots are 4,-2
