Who won the Eminem-MGK battle?

No one, because it’s 2018, not 1998.
Ok let me explain. Once upon a time, rap beefs were a massive part of the culture. If one rapper dissed you and you didn’t respond with a better diss, you were gone. Everyone dissed each other for the stupi.dest reasons. Pretty much every rapper beefed with every other rapper at some point. It was necessary to prove your worth and secure your reputation.
This was terrible, by the way. I see people talking about how soft rapper have become and sh.it like that, but you do remember how Tupac and Biggie died, right? Rap beefs were pointlessly violent and went on way too long. It was a very good thing when they died out in the late 2000’s. Now rap beefs are basically gone. This can easily be seen in 2018.
Back several months ago, there was the already legendary beef between Pusha T and Drake. If you don’t know, basically Pusha dissed Drake on his album Daytona, Drake responded, and Pusha responded with The Story of Adidon, a brutal diss track. He brought up Drake’s hidden child, Drake’s racial confusion, and a hidden photo of Drake in blackface. Drake never responded, apart from a handful of bars in his album Scorpion.
Fifteen years ago, this would have been it for Drake. If any rapper from that era was given that brutal a takedown and simply never responded, there would be severe consequences. But now, no one cares. Sure Drake was brutally destroyed, but his album massively outsold Pusha’s and he continues to be the most popular artist in the world. I doubt he lost a single fan.
Another example happened more recently between Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott. Nicki expected her album Queen to debut #1 and overtake Travis’ album Astroworld, which was sitting there at the time. However, Travis outsold and Nicki debuted at #2. Nicki sort of went insane, attacking Travis for selling simply because of his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, and because he released merch and album bundles. She even dissed his baby daughter.
If this happened at any other time in rap history, there would have been a massive beef. But there wasn’t. Travis never responded. He never even acknowledged that Nicki ever said anything. Why would he? He had the more popular album. All he needed to do was simply let it play out, and let everyone see Nicki as a whiny sore loser cry because she only got second place.
These two examples show how little rap beefs matter now. So who will win between Eminem and MGK? Neither. No one cares other than the diehard fans of either. Eminem could come at MGK with the most lyrically complex and fast rapped song to ever exist and it wouldn’t harm MGK’s career in the slightest. it’d help him a lot.
