Local knowledge -

Local knowledge is the knowledge by which people learn from their surroundings and community they live. It depends on experience. It is not limited to some groups or individuals. It is unlimited to all the groups and communities. It includes some facts which are related to concepts, beliefs, and perceptions which people hold about the world around them. In local knowledge, people observe their surroundings and environment and solve their problems by themselves.

Social Science -

Social science is the subject which includes various subjects like - Geography, History, Civics or Political science, and Economics. we can teach social science by using local knowledge. In Geography, we can teach about the environment and things which are related to the Earth, and Local methods for forecasting weather. In political science, we can teach about the human society, and about the present Government, and some other current social issues. In Economics, we can teach about the supply and demand of Products by using local knowledge.

Local knowledge is a knowledge which is well known by how practices, skills are developed to have sustained and passed from one generation to another with a community that is forming part of its own culture and identity which is spiritual.


Local knowledge people learn from their community and surrounding areas where they live.
