If that is:

w = 7 - √g

And you want to set it so g is the subject, then get "g" to one side and everything else to the other. Add √g to both sides:

√g + w = 7

subtract w from both sides:

√g = 7 - w

Now square both sides:

g = (7 - w)²

You can expand the right side and put it in standard order:

g = 49 - 14w + w²

g = w² - 14w + 49
