In the poem, "Where the Mind is Without Fear" by Rabindranath Tagore the poet addresses to his father. By father, he does not mean to the one he was born to. The father referred to here is God. He asks God to have India and the Indian people from colonization of British.

He felt Indians were prevented by the Britishers from gaining knowledge and wanted to prevent them.
