The character Lushkoff is a character in the story “The Beggar” which is written by Anton Chekhov.

In the story, Lushkoff gives the credit for his transformation to Olga.

It is because Olga used to curse him which served as his motivation.

Lushkoff even says that when he wasn't able to chop wood, Olga would do that for him instead. All these things caused Lushkoff to change himself.
