I  like Gaston for his intelligence, ingenuity and presence of mind. He knows the art of taking advantages of the situation. When Mrs Smith comes to buy the villa, she finds Gaston alone and presumes that he is the husband of Mrs Juliette and owner of the villa. He takes advantage of this situation. When Mrs Smith asks the price of the villa, he quotes it as three hunderd thousand francs. She gives him a cheque for the amount and leaves the place. He works out a scheme intelligently. When Juliette comes down, he praises the villa and offers to buy it. He gives a cheque for two hundred thousand Francs to Mrs Juliette. In this way he makes the profit of one hundred thousand francs.

I dislike Gaston because he is an opportunist and not behave well took advantage of the situation and made money for himself . It was a dishonest deal and a kind of cheating . It he knew the reasons for his wife for buying the villa and was not in agreement with her he should have been honest to her and not gone to see the villas with her wife. He was impolite and kept passing comments while his wife was taking to Juliette
