The British administrative policy broke the backbone of the Indian Industrial structure.
- Countries rely heavily on industries to ensure that their economic development is set in place. However many countries do not just rely on their own industries but also on industries from other countries. One such country was Britain which was able to import and start mass production in other countries due to its colonial power.
- Since India was still in the slave period it would not move forward with modern industries like other countries. By 1853, the first industrial complex that showed up in India was the iron furnace based on charcoal. Another attempt was made for textiles in 1854 and later on in several places across India.
- The British administrative rule was able to exploit India, its workers, and industries as a concept. Moreover, there were huge questions of ownership, source of raw materials, and human labor. Eventually, India would be able to move forward in terms of industries and also be able to classify their industries in a better way.
