Thanks for the question.

Vasco de Gama, the Portugal explorer become the first European to reach India via the Atlantic Ocean. He arrived at Calicut on the Malabar Coast. He suffered malaria and died in the city of Cochin in 1524.

Vasco da Gama's body was first buried at St. Francis Church, located at Fort Kochi in the city of Kochi, but his remains were returned to Portugal in 1539.

Hope it helps

‘Vasco Da Gama’ was the European traveler who never returned to Europe and settled down in India.

Explanation:

  • Vasco Da Gama was a Portuguese explorer, who was one of the “most successful searchers” of the European discovery era and commander of ships traveling directly from India to Europe, which reached India via the “Cape of Good Hope”, the southern corner of Africa. He came to India three times by ship.
  • Vasco is also known as the protector of the important naval and Christian religion of the ‘Arabian Sea’, besides India (by maritime roads) explorer.
