Helen was given the name of her grandmother. Helen's mother wanted her to be called by her mother's name (Helen Everett). But in the excitement of carrying Helen to the church her father forgot the name. When the minister asked , he just remembered that it had been decided to call after her grandmother, thus he gave the name as Helen Adams.

Well if you are asking about Helen of Troy then she actually was not a human she was a demigod . a demigod is someone who is an offspring of a god and a mortal . (this is according to Greek mythology). She was the daughter of the Olympian sky God Zeus and the mortal woman leda. If about Helen Keller she might be named after Helen of troy
