The answer is Shah Jahan.

Shah Jahan’s period is known as the “Golden Age of the Mughals”.  He ruled the Mughal empire for three decades starting from 1628 to 1658.

The period is known as Golden Age for many reasons. One reason was peace throughout the country when he was the emperor. There was also no threat of foreign external attack during this period.

Another reason was the infrastructure development in various forms such as bridges, canals and roads for the benefit of the public while he was the emperor. Shah Jahan also took active measures to provide relief for people from plague and famine.

A third reason is the construction of various beautiful monuments and buildings such as the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. The Red Fort in turn housed many important buildings. Apart from architecture, literature, painting and music made tremendous progress.

Last but not the least, Shah Jahan was loved by everyone because of his benevolence and kindness.
