Everyone who uses any chemical - hair shampoo, detergent, cleaner, whatever - and tips it down the drain. Everyone who uses any plastic object and sends it to the garbage dump, where it blows around, lands in a river and ends up in the ocean in the stomach of some marine mammal. Everyone who drops some small item of garbage in the streets because they’re too lazy to find a garbage can, allowing it to wash through the wastewater system and end up in the ocean. Everyone who clears some land for whatever purpose and allows rain water to wash sediment into a river. Everyone who adds fertilizer to plants and allows rain to wash this into rivers, lakes and oceans. Everyone who drives on the roads and allows the rain to wash the rubber residues from tires into rivers and lakes.

We all are, every one of us, and putting the blame on some faceless ‘them’. Saying that ‘they’ should do something about it is a simple act of denial. We will get the world
