English, asked by saswatpanda1987, 8 months ago

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though,
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost
My exam is tomorrow.

1.) The woods belonged to a man named Elbert. He was also the man who helped the poet reach his home safe from the woods after writing the poem . One road in the poem led to Elbert's house and the other to the poet's.

2.) The owner of the woods is unable to see the poet because he never goes to see his woods which are full of snow. The poet clears that there is not any sense of love and attachment in his heart for the nature. The sense of avoiding from nature will distract him from the poet and he will be unable to see the poet.

3.)The horse is shaking his harness bells to ask if stopping is a mistake. This poem describes a person that is driving a horse-drawn carriage on a snowy evening through some woods.

4.) Some words that can describe the mood of a poem might be: romantic, realistic, optimistic, pessimistic, gloomy, mournful, sorrowful, etc. Some words that can describe the tone of a poem might be: serious, humorous, amused, angry, playful, cheerful, sad, gloomy, etc.
