Hi there!
We all know that the National assembly of France finished drafting the contitution in 1791.
*Firstly, France became a Constitutional monarchy i.e. the powers of the monarch would now be checked by a constitution..
*Earler there was concentration of power within the hands of the monarch only. But now, there was separation of powers between legislature, executive and judiciary.
*all men above the age of 25 yrs were given the status of active citizens and were also required to pay taxes equivalent to 3-4 days of a labourer's wage. Those who belonged to high bracket of tax payers, got the right to vote and to get voted in the National Assembly.
*Feudal privileges were now abolished.
* The Constitution came up with a Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, which aimed at providing equal rights to all citizens (especially men)
These were some of the salient feautures of the Constitution..
