Euploidy: Arise by duplication of the chromosome sets.

(1) Haploidy :

One set of chromosomes. Haploids are better for mutation experimental studies, because all mutations either dominant or recessive can express immediately in them, as there is only one allele of each gene present in each cell.

More than two sets of chromosomes. Failure of cytokinesis after telophase stage of cell division results in an increase in a whole set of chromosomes in an organism and this phenomenon is called as polyploidy. It is often seen in plants. In case of animals, polyploidy usually results in sterility. Therefore polyploidy is rare in animals, Polyploidy fall into two major categories autopolyploidy and allopolyploidy.
