He isn’t a revolutionary as such. He is more of a technological visionary.

All of what Elon invests his time and money into was always going to grow anyway — at least in Elon’s mind, because that is how he thinks, transhumanistically.

He wasn’t totally crazy though, just brave with some craziness mixed in: Space exploration was already a thing, climate change and limited fossil fuels were a concern, AI had been researched for a while. He just wanted to go all in and get involved, because he seems really into providing the means by which talented engineers, and researchers, can create ingenious solutions to these areas. That isn’t revolutionary, its “solutionary”.

He doesn’t care about the personal opinions people have, of their unfounded doubts, or whether they think he is bluffing for some reason. A man who racks up $620m in debt, and buys his own bonds for $65m out of his own pocket, isn’t bluffing.
