Acidifying agents are not bufferingagents although they are frequently labeled as such. They will lower the pH of the spray solution only. They are typically derived from phosphoric acid or blends of phosphate ester anionic surfactants containing free phosphoric acid.

These are the drugs which are able to increse the acidity , in GIT. Someof these drugs are used to increase metabolic acidosis whereas some of these are used to increase the gastric hydrochloric acid is known as acidifying agents.
