I can't write a derivation or something for this but can try to make you understand this a little bit.
Factorial of 0 equals 1, is something like x raised to the power 0 equals one. In mathematics, both of these relations are derived by a similar method.
To understand this, we will talk about handshake. Handshake can only be done if there are at least two people or more than two.
x raised to the power 0 is equal to one. Power, it seems like the number of persons we handshaked with. Power is 1: handshake between two persons (including you and the other; also 1 refers to the number of people you handshaked with), power is 2: handshake between 2 persons, 3: three persons, 4: four persons and so on. But what if power is zero? There will be no person to handshake with, leaving you alone. So there will be a single person (You).
Factorial is something like this.
I know it's is completely irrelatable and it doesn't apply on other cases but this is only how some maths professor will make you understand this.
It requires a complex mathematics which is out of my reach right now, so we should accept it as it is.
I personally won't allow you to rely on this and will advice to you look up for the query yourself.
