Why 1 is not a Prime or Composite number

because it cannot be divided by any numbers neither by no. itself

1 has only one positive factor i.e number one only. Hence one is neither prime nor composite.

Twinkle007: For a composite number, it should have at least 3 or more factors and for a prime number,it should have 2 factors the number itself and 1.Thus, 1 is neither prime nor composite because it has only one factor that is 1 because 1 is also number itself. There is another terminology for number 1 that is called “ unique number”.
