Hey,
Ur answer is here,
As We know that volume is equal to the space created. The term cubic centimeter is 1cm long and 1cm high. One milliliter (mL) is the equivalent volume of a cubic centimeter. Therefore the term mL is preferred over centimeter cube.

Also we can obtain it from the relation,

1 litre = 1000 cm3

and also 1 litre=1000mL

Then 1000mL=1000 cm3

or 1 cm3 = 1 mL
Hope it helps you ☺️

A nice question which i will explain using an activity.

Let us take a cube of size a=1 cm {length=breadth=height=a=1cm}

Note-We can take any other 3D figure but we have to take specific dimensions to make a volume of 1cm³. Cube is the simplest figure so I am considering that.

Also the cube we are taking has negligible thickness means 0 thickness.

This is because thickness is inversely proportional to volume means the increase in thickness will decrease the volume.

Volume of cube = a³ i.e 13=1cm³

Take a measuring container and pour water till the measure of 1 ml.

Now pour this water in cube

Now we will observe that the water is at the brim and no more water can be stored .

Therefore 1cm³=1ml

We equate volume to quantity because as volume is simply the space inside the object and quantity occupies this space .Therefore they are equated.
