Let us assume that

=> 0 = 0

=>4–4 = 10 - 10

=>2²-2² = 2x5 - 2x5

=>(2 - 2)(2 + 2) = 5(2 - 2)

Cancelling (2–2) from both sides we get

2+2 = 5

There are MANY possible ways to prove this.

FIRST: The one you were looking (I suppose)

0 = 0

=>4–4 = 10 - 10

=>2²-2² = 2x5 - 2x5

=>(2 - 2)(2 + 2) = 5(2 - 2)

Cancelling (2–2) from both sides we get

2+2 = 5

Proved.

But this is totally wrong, I guess even you know that we can't cancel (2–2) from both sides.

Now the real proof

2+2 = 5
