Because if two field lines interesct; their point of intersection will denote two different directions of field intensity at a same point; which is impossible.

Answer:

They can not.

Explanation:

According to the given question we are asked to find why two electric field of lines cant intersect each other.

We know that tangent at the given point on electric field gives it direction.

And when two electric field lines will intersect then there can be drawn two tangent at the point of intersection which will show two direction of electric field. Which is impossible.

And thus two electric field lines cant intersect.
