Why 2-phenylethanoic acid and not 1-phenylethanoic acid?

this is ethanoic acid-

CH3-COOH
so if you Wil name it you will give preference to fun ()aĺ group -COOH

phenyl ethanoic acid is made by replacing 1 H with phenyl group so start count from the acid group
