24k gold is pure gold with 99.9999 purity. It is extremely soft and malleable, so it is impossible to use it for jewellery. Hence, 20k, 18k and 14k purity gold are usually used for making jewellery, where karat value of gold is reduced by mixing it with other metals, like silver and copper. However, gold biscuits or gold bars are made with 24 karate gold.
