3/5 is not an integer because -

• According,to the mathematical elaboration of integer,we came to know that integer is either a negative or positive number which has no fractional components.

• Which means an integer should not be expressed in the x/y form,or in the simple words, integer should be a whole number.

• But, 3/5 is not a whole number because it is expressed in the x/y form, where x is 3 and y is 5.

• That's why we cannot consider 3/5 as an integer.
