becoz after removal of 2 electrons effective nuclear charge increses and removal of 3rd electron become more difficult so 3rd ip is more

Answer:

Explanation:

Ionization enthalpy is the energy required to remove an electron from outermost shell of gaseous atom.

So after removal of one electron the force that nucleus exerts on electron increases.

Thus when we remove 2nd electron more energy is required.

Now after removal of 2nd electron the attractive force increases manifolds and hence to remove third electron a large amount of energy is required so as to overcome the attractive force.

Hope it helps.
