Why 5f and 6d subshells have nearly same energy

This is because both the subshells are nearly close to each other and away from the nucleus leading to lower energy...

It is because...... as we know the value of n and l for 5f subshell is 5+3 =8 ...as for f l= 3 ... similarly the value of n and l for 6d is equal to 6+2 = 8 as for d orbital value of l is 2 .....as in both cases the value of n and l comes out to be 8 so ...both have same energy ...and are filled in succession..
