Step-by-step explanation:

perfect square means a no after square root results in a whole no. and not irrational number

For example square root of 144 is 12 because after prime factorization 144=2^4×3^2

Taking the pairs of 2 and 3 we get 2×2×3=12because we have to square root.

Now do the same for 600 we will not get the same.

Question :

why 600 is not a perfect square ?

Answer :

To test whether the given number is a perfect square or not , we find its prime factors , if these prime factors can be expressed in pairs of equal factors , the given number is a perfect square .

Prime factors of 600 are :-

\large\begin{array}{r | l} </p><p>2 &amp; 600 \\</p><p>\hline 2 &amp; 300 \\</p><p>\hline 2 &amp; 150 \\ </p><p>\hline 3 &amp; 75 \\</p><p>\hline 5 &amp; 25 \\</p><p>\hline 5 &amp; 5 \\ </p><p>\hline 1 &amp; 1 </p><p>\end{array}

Checking the factors into pairs of equal factors , we find that 3 and 1 left, so 600 is not a perfect square .
