Why 82°31'E has been selected as the standard Meridian of Indian?

it is selected because india is such a large country so there is a time lag so to avoid time confusion there is a standard meridian which is 82degree 31 East as it falls in middle of India in mirzapur

There is a time lag of two hours from the westernmost to the easternpoint of India. So for conceive along time,a standard meridian has been decided to avoid confusions. As 82°31'E lies at the centre of India, it is selected as standard meridian.
