Hi Beautiful Soul,

it is advised not to wash a clinical thermometer in hot water because it is generally made for measuring body temperature that is 30 to 40 degree Celsius and the temperature of hot water generally exceed 100 degrees Celsius that will reach the maximum measure of that thermometer and it will break it.
