Why a copper wire is not used for making a electric fuse?

because copper is a good conductor of electricity and if u touch that fuse made of copper it can pass through us. that's why it is not used to make electric fuse

Copper is a metal having high melting point and very low specific resistance. in case of excess current flowing in the circuit it will not be able to melt the fuse wire quickly.So, The fuse will not break the circuit and then the circuit will damaged.
